HUE on Ubuntu VM

Install HUE on Ubuntu 14.04

$ apt-get install  libgmp3-dev
$ sudo su -c “apt-get install ant gcc g++ libkrb5-dev libmysqlclient-dev libssl-dev \
libsasl2-dev libsasl2-modules-gssapi-mit libsqlite3-dev libtidy-0.99-0 libxml2-dev \
libxslt-dev maven libldap2-dev python-dev python-setuptools git”
$ git clone http://github.com/cloudera/hue.git
$ cd hue
$ make apps
$ build/env/bin/hue runserver

 

Website:

http://localhost:8000

Bashrc:

  • Add the HUE_HOME into .bashrc file.
  • export HUE_HOME=<hue path>
  • E.g. export HUE_HOME=/home/ubuntu/software/hue/hue-master
  • source ~/.bashrc

Configurations:

# hdfs-site.xml-

Copy hue jar files to hadoop lib

cp $HUE_HOME/desktop/libs/hadoop/java-lib/hue-plugins-*.jar $HADOOP_HOME/lib/.
# mapred-site.xml-

<property>
<name>jobtracker.thrift.address</name>
<value>0.0.0.0:9290</value>
</property>
<property>
<name>mapred.jobtracker.plugins</name>
<value>org.apache.hadoop.thriftfs.ThriftJobTrackerPlugin</value>

</property>

# oozie-site.xml-
